onor X8d Overview

Design and Display

Starting with the design, Honor has opted for a flat-frame build for the X8d.  At 7.5mm and weighing just 188g, this thing is surprisingly slim and light, considering it packs such a big battery. And during my testing, it felt quite comfortable to hold and use. And let me also introduce you to the AI button. It is not just there for show; it's actually functional. You can set shortcuts to it: Torch, Google Lens, Honor AI, AI memories, and AI mobile assistant. The device is available in three color options: Blue, Grey, and Black.

Flipping to the front, you are greeted with a 6.77-inch AMOLED display with FHD+ resolution (1080 × 2392 pixels). In real life, the display feels quite bright both indoors and outdoors. I'd say it's a perfect phone if you are an Indrive or Pathao rider. Other than that, my daily dose of reel scrolling and YouTube videos were also quite smooth thanks to its fast 120Hz display. Similarly, for the build quality we get a IP65 dust and splash resistance. So, a minor splash during this drizzle season was never a problem.

Performance

Honor X8d is powered by the Snapdragon 6s 4G Gen 2 chipset. Now, as the name suggests, this is a 4G-only processor. You're getting 8GB of RAM paired with 128/256GB of internal storage. For day-to-day usage, it's all good. It can handle basic tasks like switching between social media apps, playing light games, and watching content but dont expect to run heavy games. In terms of software, the X8d runs on MagicOS 10 based on Android 16.

Camera and Battery

Talking about the camers, the Honor X8d is led by a 108MP main sensor, with a 5MP UW camera at the back. For selfies, you get a 16MP selfi shooter. All the cameras can record upto FHD resolution at 30 fps.

This is probably the biggest highlight of the Honor X8d. The phone packs a massive 7,000mAh battery, and the charging speed is rated at 45W, which means it goes from 0 to 100% in around 90 minutes. And it easily lasts 2 days on moderate usage.

Talking of the connectivity stuff, it supports VoLTE and VoWiFi calls on both NTC and Ncell. Surprisingly, it also supports Carrier Video Calling on NTC, which is the first time I have seen it on an Honor phone. It's the NTC-to-NTC feature that allows video calling over 4G mobile networks without using mobile data or WiFi.
